Handling Stress Positively

For employees, managers and supervisors who want to improve their own performance in organisations through better understanding and handling of stress. This seminar is available in either one day or half day sessions.  It will raise awareness of the causes and effects of stress and encourage participants to consider ways of reducing its damaging impact.  The seminar will enable participants to:

  • Recognise the stress response;
  • Identify ways in which they cope with stress;
  • Consider ways of preventing, reducing and controlling excessive stress;
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of stress in themselves and others;
  • Assess their own levels of stress;
  • Develop skills for limiting or reducing the effects of stress;
  • Know what resources are available for further information about stress.

Harassment - Volunteer Advisers

For employees who are about to undertake the role of volunteer harassment adviser in the workplace.   This one day seminar will help advisers understand more about harassment in the workplace and the role they can play.

  • Understand the nature of harassment and what a person being harassed is  experiencing;
  • Know what the Employer?s responsibilities are and understand the benefits of a formal policy;
  • Understand the role of the volunteer harassment adviser;
  • Conduct an effective interview with someone who is being harassed or with someone they expect is being harassed;
  • Assist someone who feels they are experiencing a problem to understand their options and support them through the process.


Nipping it in the bud - conflict management skills for line managers

This one day course provides managers with the skills and confidence necessary to deal with conflict in the workplace.


  • Looking at techniques designed to promote and negotiate 'reasonable' behaviour between employees;
  • Have a greater understanding of skills and techniques required for conflict resolution;
  • Examine the appropriate use of mediation skills;
  • Be more aware of how effective communication can aid in dealing with difficult people.


Good times/Bad times: Supporting employees whatever the climate

This one day course provides managers, their advisers, and workplace policy makers with skills to examine the structures and behaviours that are necessary for employees to feel supported by the organisation they work for.


Promoting and Managing mental health and well being in your workplace

This one day course is aimed at anyone who has a role in promoting mental health in the workplace, e.g. managers across all levels of seniority, HR professionals, welfare advisors. The course examines ways of improving the workplace environment through practices that promote mental wellbeing in the workplace.
