Why choose Employee Counselling Service?

Employee Counselling Service is a not-for-profit organisation. We pride ourselves in adapting our services to meet the needs of employers and employees.

The main reasons employers select our services are:


  • We have been providing counselling to employees for over 32 years
  • We have experience as a leading provider of counselling to over 200 different organisations. Clients include: NHS, Local Authorities, Universities as well as many small to medium sized organisations within the public, private and the voluntary sector
  • Our counsellors have extensive experience and are all employed and supervised by ECS making it fully accountable for their work.  We do not use associate counsellors
  • All our counsellors hold and must maintain membership of an appropriate professional body such as British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or Counselling and Psychotherapy in England (COSCA).  In addition both organisations regularly audit and accredit Employee Counselling Service.

Customer Service

  • Comprehensive management reports are provided by our Customer Service team who will also guide employers through the launch of their service and provide additional support and promotional materials
  • Further guidance and support is available from one of our senior counsellors who will conduct regular review meetings
  • Our service has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification and all of our work is monitored by a Committee of Management made up of representatives from: Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Occupational Health Professionals and the Scottish Trade Union Congress and other employee representatives
  • We operate in locations throughout England


  • Our in-house training team offer additional support to employers and employees through a variety of training courses. Our trainers are committed to continuous professional development and keep up to date with research and development in their areas of expertise.

Employee Counselling Service can assist Managers, Human Resources and Occupational Health professionals to support employees who are experiencing work-related or personal problems.
